About Robbie

I'm an automotive design engineer working in the industry, with a First Class MEng and a genuine passion for great engineering. Day to day I design production parts for a major vehicle manufacturer, and I've spent years learning how to model cleanly, efficiently and with real intent behind every feature.

I started teaching because I remember how frustrating SolidWorks felt at the beginning — tutorials that showed you what to click but never why, leaving you stuck the moment you tried something new. I love that moment when it finally clicks for someone and they start thinking like an engineer rather than just following steps. Helping people build that confidence, whether for a career, a qualification or their own projects, is genuinely rewarding.

I'm patient, approachable and completely focused on you during our sessions. There's no such thing as a silly question, and I'll always take the time to make sure you actually understand something before we move on.

About the lesson

I'm a professional automotive design engineer with a First Class MEng and a CSWP qualification. I design production parts every day in industry, so my teaching is grounded in how real components actually come together — not just textbook theory. My one-to-one lessons teach you to think and model like an engineer — understanding why you build something a certain way, not just which buttons to click.

I tailor every course to the individual. My go-to teaching project builds a full double-wishbone suspension from individual components up to a working assembly — a genuinely engaging way to master parts, assemblies, mates and design intent in a real-world context. But if that's not the right fit, we'll work on whatever suits your goals: mastering sketches and features, building more complex parts, understanding proper design intent, or modelling your own product ideas and specific skills you need for work or certification. Sessions run around 60 minutes, fully live and paced to you, with screen sharing so I can watch how you model and fix habits in real time.

Lessons suit complete beginners, students, career-changers and working engineers wanting to build real confidence and a portfolio-ready skill set. Whether you're preparing for CSWP certification, a new role, or bringing your own designs to life, I'll have you modelling properly from the very first session.
