I understand that everyone learns differently, and I adapt to each student's needs accordingly. If a student needs more time learning a certain concept, I make sure to spend extra time on that concept with them to ensure they understand and can then move forward in their learning with confidence.
When teaching, I base my teaching style on the way that the student learns, while taking into account their past experiences and relating them to the material being taught. My class is a balance of the different sectors needed to learn a language: reading, writing, listening, and reading. I make sure to engage my students in the material at hand, so that they are willing to learn.
My classes with structure and flexibility, depending upon the needs of the students. For high school or junior high school students, I follow Alberta Education's curriculum as much as possible. I like teacher / student(s) discussion. I assign and review homework.
I approach a subject based on the syllabus. I can teach a range of classes for students from Grades 1 to 9 and also many Law school subjects. I am also available to edit and help students with any written assignments.
My teaching methods include allowing the student to choose what theu think are the best ways to approach a subject
Using explicit instruction, I guide and support students throughout a step-by-step writing process, which begins with reading comprehension strategies, annotation, and analysis and ending in writing drafts for paragraph and essay assignments.
I have a fun, engaging and adaptable approach that is effective with all students. I will find the explanation that makes sense for you, and inspire you to feel confident and excited about learning. I will provide a range of resources and work with you on a plan for success.
My teaching methods are based on the student's needs and capabilities. I generally employ one of the following approaches: - Personalized learning: where I seek to tailor challenge, lessons and instructional style to each student’s needs. - Project-based learning: wherein I monitor where my students are at to measure success.
I use the study methods developed by L. Ron Hubbard. Using these methods all manner of students have been helped; English speaking, non-English speaking or people with reading disabilities. It is done one on one, you the student and myself the coach. The only other thing needed is the material you are studying and a dictionary. Learning and understanding can be a lot of fun.
I am a girl from a small town in northern Saskatchewan. I absolutely love literature! My favourite novels are "To Kill A Mockingbird" by Harper Lee and "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak. I grew up spending a lot of time outdoors hiking, canning, swimming, fishing, etc. Other hobbies I have include, watching history shows, painting, running, photography, and cooking.
My teaching methods are being patient but persistent. helping kids who need the extra hand.
My teaching philosophy is very student centred. I want my students to feel empowered to learn and discover that they have so much knowledge and understanding; I'm just there to help guide them through the tricky parts and challenge them to go deeper. My sessions are best suited for students in High School or University that need a bit of extra support unpacking their assigned reading.
