Brendan and I went to middle school, high school, and college together. He was, and is, the first person I go to when I have trouble understanding something. He can make any difficult concept feel intuitive, and his interest in whatever he is learning/teaching is infectious. We saw each other daily for many years, and in every conversation I would come away with new information and understanding.

He is the best explainer I know, and has the most genuine enthusiasm I have ever encountered. His grasp of math (as well as logic, physics, classics, French, history, religion, and many other subjects) is unparalleled. (And my dad teaches grad students through MIT, so I've met a lot of smart people!)

For many subjects, particularly math, Brendan is the only teacher I would want.
