About Athena
Hello! My name is Athena and I'm a linguistics major, currently studying abroad at UC San Diego. I was educated in both the UK and the US, so I understand the GCSE, AP, and SAT systems first-hand. I earned a 5 in AP English, scored 770 on SAT Maths, and graduated from a top US high school with straight As. I have also helped students who were struggling in GCSE English go on to achieve grade 9s.
Every session is tailored to the student's goals, whether that's exam preparation, essay writing, or simply building confidence. I tutor students of all ages, from kindergarten to university, and I offer flexible scheduling to fit around school and family commitments. I'm always patient, prepared, and encouraging.
Outside of tutoring, you'll usually find me out on a run or lost in a good book, which is where my love of language began. I look forward to helping you succeed!

English & SAT Tutor | 5 on AP English | 770 SAT Maths | Students Moved from Struggling to Grade 9 in GCSE English
I'm a UK- and US-educated tutor with the results to back up my methods. I earned a 5 on AP English, a 770 on SAT Maths, straight As at a top US high school, and the highest grade in my high school chemistry class. I've also helped students who were struggling in GCSE English go on to achieve grade 9s, the top grade.
I absolutely love English, and I know not everyone does. That's why I teach practical techniques that make reading, writing, and analysis feel manageable (and even enjoyable). I can help with:
SAT Reading, Writing, and Maths
AP English
GCSE English Language and Literature
High school chemistry
Because I've studied in both the UK and the US, I understand both systems. I tutor all ages, from kindergarten to university, and tailor every session to your goals.
