About Alexander

Hi I’m Alex

I am a qualified lawyer who has spent the past seven years working in local government. My work focuses on public law, planning law, commercial contracts, procurement, property, and regeneration projects. This means that I deal with complex legal issues every day and advise public bodies on how the law operates in real situations.

I want to teach because I enjoy helping people understand the law in a clear and practical way. Law can often feel abstract or overwhelming when it is first studied, but with the right explanation, it becomes much more logical and structured. My aim is to help students break down complex topics so they can understand both the legal principles and how to apply them confidently.

Through tutoring, I hope to support students who want to strengthen their legal knowledge, improve their analytical skills, and gain confidence in exams and coursework. I bring a practical perspective from working as a lawyer, which helps students see how the law works beyond the classroom.

Teaching is also something I find genuinely rewarding. Seeing a student move from confusion to clarity and confidence is one of the most satisfying parts of tutoring. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their understanding of the law.

About the lesson

I offer private tutoring grounded in real legal practice. For the past seven years, I have worked as a local authority lawyer advising on public law, planning law, commercial contracts, procurement, property, and regeneration projects. That experience shapes how I teach.

My approach focuses on helping students understand how the law actually operates in practice, not just how it appears in textbooks. I explain legal principles clearly and then show how they are applied in real decision-making by councils, developers, contractors, and public bodies. This helps students build both academic understanding and practical legal reasoning.

I tailor sessions to each individual student. Whether you need help mastering the foundations of public and administrative law, understanding planning and property frameworks, or improving legal analysis and problem question technique, sessions are structured around your goals. I also place strong emphasis on exam technique, issue spotting, and clear legal writing.

Because my daily work involves advising on complex projects and drafting legal advice, I bring practical insight into areas such as procurement rules, development agreements, public decision-making, and commercial risk. Students therefore gain not only subject knowledge but also an understanding of how lawyers approach problems in practice.

My aim is to make complex areas of law accessible, structured, and engaging. Students leave sessions with clearer understanding, stronger analytical skills, and greater confidence in applying the law.
