About Harlet
Hi! I’m Harlet! If your child enjoys stories but sometimes struggles with reading, comprehension, or confidence, I’d love to help make reading feel easier and more enjoyable.
I’m a Political Science graduate who has always loved reading, writing, and learning new things. I’m also someone who genuinely enjoys working with people, explaining ideas, and having conversations, which is why I love the idea of helping young learners discover the fun in reading.
My sessions are friendly, patient, and interactive. Rather than simply asking a child to read aloud, I like to guide them through the story, ask questions, explain unfamiliar words, and encourage them to share what they think. We can take our time, go back to tricky parts, and celebrate those little “Aha!” moments along the way.
Most importantly, I want children to feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. Reading is a skill that grows with practice, patience, and encouragement, and it can be fun, too!

Let’s make reading more than just looking at words on a page! My guided reading lessons are designed to be fun, interactive, and easy to follow, especially for young learners.
Each lesson is tailored to the student’s reading level and may include short stories, guided reading, vocabulary, comprehension questions, and simple discussions. I encourage students to read aloud, share their ideas, and ask questions along the way.
To make the lessons even more engaging, I use creative PowerPoint presentations with colorful visuals, pictures, and examples that help bring the story and new words to life. Instead of simply explaining a word, we can see it, talk about it, and connect it to something familiar.
The goal is not just to finish a story—it’s to help students understand what they read, discover new words, become more confident readers, and genuinely enjoy the experience.
