About Camila

I just recently graduated with my Master's at the University of Massachusetts-Boston. I studied International Relations which was also my major in undergrad. In addition, I had a minor in French studies so I learned a lot of my French skills from those classes. In 2019, I got the opportunity to study abroad in Rennes, France at a university called Sciences Po Rennes. It was an amazing experience and I love to talk about it so please ask me anything about it! During my six months abroad was when I truly became fully immersed and fluent. Living abroad is the best thing you can do to learn a language and I recommend it to everyone! I am a lover of French and Francophone culture so I always keep up with it. Whether it be through news articles or music, I am constantly up to date. Fun Fact: it is absolutely my dream to live in Paris, France so I hope to achieve that dream soon. I am a lover of creative ways of learning so be prepared to listen to some podcasts and music. I love to combine my love for music with the French language. Additionally, I love watching series on Netflix that are in French because it keeps my French current. I might ask you to do the same. ;) Some of my hobbies are makeup, dance, salsa, going to the gym, and singing. I hope you choose me as your next teacher and I get to learn more about you :)

About the lesson

I curate my lessons based on the student's learning needs. I do a preliminary level test to assess the student's level. After that, we build a plan based on the student's learning goals. I typically will work with student textbooks but also create my own lesson plans with visual aids. I really like to focus on conversation as well so please let's talk! I am very outgoing and energetic so you will have fun during our lessons. I absolutely love French culture so I will expose you to many aspects of it such as music and nuances of the language. I am also not a native speaker so just know that I started right where you are. I typically teach beginners (A1 or A2) students!
