My Philosophy of Teaching: Teaching Strategies and Techniques: My teaching style is based on conceptual-first, breaking down complex and abstract topics into simple and relatable concepts. I connect these concepts using visually-supported examples, lived experiences, and interactive problem-solving, which I find supports deep understanding. I like to engage students' active participation in the learning process through questions, interactive quizzes, and discussion with peers. Structure of a Class: Intro (5-10 minutes): Quick review of the previous lesson and clear daily learning objective. Core Teaching (25-30 minutes): Articulate key concepts, substantiate with examples, making use of board work, PowerPoint presentations, or coding examples. Practice/Discussion (15-20 minutes): Students work on questions independently or collaboratively; I support, guide, and encourage. Recap and Question time (5-10 minutes): Summarize key takeaways and clear up anything a student might doubt. Assign practice/homework. Unique Qualities I Bring as a Teacher: o I am patient and accessible - I want to ensure nobody falls behind o I emphasize conceptual clarity over rote memorization o I provide individualized assistance reflecting the pace and learning within the classroom. o I utilize technology and digital tools to bring engaging learning experiences. Intended Audience: My class is geared towards learners from a college level (particularly in computer science or engineering degrees), however; I also adjust lessons to meet the needs of high-school learners and adult career changers/reskillers focused on tech-related fields.
