About Jake
A communications major at the Macaulay Honors Program at Brooklyn College, I love being able to help people through their issues with good communication. As a rising junior at the moment, much of my high school curriculum is still fresh in my mind, and I understand the difficulties of making sense of all the different subjects being taught to you. I could say something like "I'm not like other tutors", but I'd rather let my ability speak for itself when helping students! :)

As a communications major, I know that all tutoring is just communicating complex subjects in a comprehensible way. I think many tutors focus more on the material itself rather than the student, which is where I feel I diverge from these kinds of tutors. Tutoring is not just teaching, it's communicating, relationship building, and problem solving all rolled into one. I feel my more communicative approach is one that will get through to many students with quantifiable change in their school performance.
