About James
I've been involved in the martial arts world for almost 30 years. I have studied and practiced various forms and styles, including both empty-hand and weapons training. I have been actively teaching martial arts for about 20 years, and started my own school in 2009.
I'm also a qualified personal trainer, and have provided coaching outside the martial arts.
Years of martial arts training has also provided a skillset in practical mindfulness. I am able to coach others in this skill.
Essentially, it's learning all the cool mental skills martial arts gives you without having to do the physical martial arts practice.

My approach to teaching is to help provide a student with a skill bridge. I adapt teaching styles to the student and adjust and deliver a series of methods catered to a student to help bridge them from where they are to where they would like to be.
Typical class length is 45-60 minutes. I have almost 30 years experience doing martial arts plus a Cert IV in Personal training and a Cert IV in Sports coaching specialising in martial arts. Along with a current first aid certificate.
Lessons can be geared towards begginers to intermediate, ages 18 and up.
