About Heather
Working with advanced learners, teens, and kids requires a flexible mindset. Sometimes, it feels like we are just scratching the surface of what your fingers can actually achieve on the fretboard. My path started with deep studies at the University of Miami Frost, and I have spent 13 years honing my craft in both piano and guitar.
I love teaching fingerpicking, barre chords, and lead guitar techniques. The process is never just about reading tabs or sheet music, but about internalizing the soul of the instrument. I often share my own history with Latin music traditions to help students find their unique voice.
Whether we are discussing scales, modes, or tuning and maintenance, the goal is always to create a sound that resonates. My teaching philosophy draws on my degree and the years I have spent in the studio. It is quite a process.

I take your song requests and turn them into simplified arrangements so you can play music you love right away. We cover everything from acoustic technique to advanced improvisation and soloing. It is helpful to treat the guitar as a storyteller, and I ensure you have the tools to tell your own stories.
Even after 13 years, I am constantly impressed by how quickly a student can pick up a new concept when they are motivated by a song they enjoy. We keep the energy high and the technical drills practical. I check your progress against your goals to ensure we remain on track. The focus will remain entirely on your growth as a performer.
