About Nola
I am a dedicated Chess tutor with 15 years of teaching experience, helping students of all levels grow in skill and confidence. I have successfully trained around 150 students, from complete beginners learning the basics to advanced players preparing for competitions.
My teaching philosophy is simple: strong foundations lead to strong players. I focus on clear understanding of tactics, strategy, openings, endgames, and calculation skills. I break complex ideas into simple steps so students can learn comfortably and improve steadily. I believe every student can become better with the right guidance and consistent practice.
I create structured lesson plans based on each student’s level and goals. I use puzzles, real game analysis, practical exercises, and friendly challenges to make learning engaging and effective. I also teach important values like patience, discipline, focus, and sportsmanship.
Seeing my students improve their ratings, win matches, and gain confidence is my biggest achievement. My goal is not only to teach Chess but to build critical thinking skills and a lifelong love for the game.

My teaching approach in Chess is clear, structured, and student-centered. I focus on building strong fundamentals first, including piece movement, opening principles, board control, tactics, strategy, and endgame techniques. I also teach positional understanding, calculation skills, pattern recognition, time management, and tournament preparation.
I believe communication is the key to good learning. I explain ideas in simple English and encourage students to ask questions freely. I use real game examples, puzzles, and analysis of famous matches to help students understand practical decision-making. I also guide students in online and over-the-board competition preparation.
Empathy and flexibility are important in my sessions. Every student learns differently, so I adjust my methods based on their level, goals, and learning speed. Whether a beginner or an advanced player, I create step-by-step improvement plans.
I teach with integrity and respect. I promote sportsmanship, discipline, patience, and critical thinking. I am culturally sensitive and welcome students from all backgrounds. My goal is not only to improve rating and performance but also to develop confidence, focus, and a lifelong love for Chess.
