About Sherley-Ann

As the Founder & CEO of Passaggio LLC, I bring a unique blend of academic rigor and real-world entrepreneurial experience to every lesson. My journey to becoming a vocal coach is built on a solid foundation: a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Ithaca College. These degrees provided me with not just a deep understanding of vocal pedagogy and music theory, but also a structured approach to curriculum development and effective teaching. Beyond my formal education, my 5+ years of experience leading Passaggio means I'm not just a teacher; I'm a results-driven professional committed to client success. I've personally guided diverse individuals through complex learning journeys, consistently delivering measurable progress and ensuring client satisfaction. My roles as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Resident Assistant further honed my skills in mentorship, empathetic problem-solving, and managing diverse needs within structured, high-accountability environments. When you choose Passaggio, you're choosing a partner dedicated to your growth. I pride myself on my meticulous organization, clear communication, and unwavering commitment to professionalism. You can expect a highly reliable, respectful, and supportive learning environment where your goals are my priority. Welcome to Passaggio, where I guide you to Master Vocal Performance and unlock your most Confident, Expressive Singing! I'm Sherley-Ann, Founder & CEO of Passaggio LLC, and I bring a unique blend of expertise from my Master of Music in Vocal Performance (USC) and Bachelor of Music in Music Education (Ithaca College), alongside 5+ years of entrepreneurial experience in holistic talent development.

My Teaching Methodology & Techniques:
My approach is rooted in the Passaggio Vocal Freedom Method, focusing on stress-free, joyful practice that empowers your authentic voice. I blend rigorous vocal pedagogy (breath control, pitch accuracy, vocal range expansion, resonance) with practical performance psychology (mindset training, stage presence, overcoming performance anxiety). Lessons are human-centered and data-driven, utilizing personalized exercises and progress tracking to ensure measurable results and sustainable growth.

A Typical Lesson Plan:
Each session is tailored to your unique needs, but typically includes:

Vocal Warm-Up: Gentle physical and vocal exercises to prepare your voice.

Assessment & Review: Discussion of your practice, current vocal state, and specific challenges.

Targeted Technique Work: Focused exercises to address your individual vocal goals.

Repertoire Application: Applying new techniques to songs, focusing on musicality and expression.

Feedback & Action Steps: Clear, actionable guidance for your practice, ensuring continuous progress.

What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor:
My unique background as a performing artist and educator allows me to offer a truly holistic approach. I don't just teach technique; I help you understand the why behind it, connect with your emotional expression, and conquer stage nerves. My entrepreneurial experience means I bring a results-oriented, organized, and adaptable mindset to every lesson. I am passionate about helping you achieve not just technical mastery, but also unshakeable confidence and joy in your singing.

Who the Lessons Are For:
My online vocal coaching lessons are for all levels – from beginners eager to find their voice, to intermediate singers refining their craft, and advanced performers preparing for professional engagements. I work with students of various backgrounds, including aspiring professional singers, hobbyists, public speakers, actors, and those preparing for auditions, performances, or recitals. I cover diverse genres such as Classical, Musical Theater, Jazz, Pop, R&B, Gospel, and Contemporary styles.
