About Onat

I'm a highly motivated, patient tutor with a relentless attitude aimed at ensuring examination success.

I'm an examiner for Pearson Edexcel for 5+ years at GCSE & A Level. As part of my role, I continuously engage with the everchanging dialogue around student performance and success at examinations. I analyse examiners reports to spot trends around student performance which allows me to effectively diagnose common mistakes made by students. This level of expertise is something my students benefit greatly from.

I inspire students and teachers daily and this is evident through the major transformation of the history department after I started leading the department. Last academic year, we experienced a major improvement in exam results with a 15.2% increase in grades 9-4, as well as improvements made on our progress score.

About the lesson

My lessons take an accommodating approach to teaching where students feel comfortable in reflecting on their own learning journey. My attention to detail allows me to diagnose the right pedagogical interventions for all types of learners. I prioritise having the right balance of exam skills and subject knowledge which is tailored to the diverse needs of each student, inevitably improving results.

Throughout my 7+ years in education, I have continuously been tutoring students at GCSE, A Level and undergraduate level.
