About Susie
I am a 4th year Natural Sciences student at the University of Cambridge with at least 350 hours of tutoring experience and a first in my bachelor's. I am dyslexic which has always meant I have to approach learning in a different way to others, this means I have learnt and researched many different learning styles which I can apply to my tutoring lessons for my students, whether they are neurodivergent or not. I also have 4 siblings that I have tutored since I was 16 and enjoyed it so much I decided to become a tutor. My aim is to improve both confidence and skill in Maths and Further Maths through 1 or 2 hour lessons. With 94% in my Further Maths A-level, I know what it takes to get a good grade and I hope to pass this onto my students.

My approach to tutoring is generally visual and interactive, though I will tailor my teaching style to the individual student. I often start with a taster session where we will work through some problems or talk through some content together so that I can learn about the student's learning style and they can see my teaching style and see if I am the right fit for them. I teach all years as well as students applying to Oxbridge. I often tutor for 1 hour but if I tutor for 2 hours then I make sure to include a 10 minute break to optimise the ability of the student to learn. As a neurodivergent person, I have developed unique styles of learning as well as researched into how different people understand and learn new content which can be very important for progression. One of the most important things for me is that I make sure my students feel safe in their lessons so that they feel they can speak up when they need more support. Confidence is a huge factor in a student's learning and I aim to develop this in their lessons in addition to just their ability to understand and learn the content. I also make personalised homework for the students who ask for this as I know that finding the right level of questions outside of tutoring can be an exhausting task. I find that this helps the students to consolidate their learning as well as build their confidence. I have at least 400 hours of tutoring experience which has helped me to improve my own tutoring style.

Susie is a fantastic tutor who has been incredibly helpful in improving my understanding of both A-Level and university-level maths and chemistry concepts. She explains challenging ideas with clarity and patience, adapting her teaching style to suit how I learn best. Her lessons are always well-structured and engaging, and she takes the time to ensure I truly grasp the concepts rather than just memorising methods. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and supportive tutor.
Susie is a very experienced tutor who has tutored two of my daughter's online privately. My older daughter is not a natural at maths and science but managed to go up two grades on what was expected of her in both subjects at GCSE. The other daughter is excellent at maths and science, Susie is currently helping her with her personal statement and Chemistry A level and it is looking likely she will obtain the A stars she requires. She is patient, well prepared, reliable, talks in an understable way to all levels helping them to solve difficult problems successfully which improves their confidence on those subjects and generally. My daughters really enjoyed the sessions with her and I can fully recommend her.
