About Sara
Hi there! My name is Sara and I am a current Masters student at The London School of Economics. I have been tutoring, in one form or another, for over six years -- and I find great joy in helping students become more confident in their English and writing.
I believe learning is supposed to be enjoyable. When something feels difficult or you hit a roadblock, I like to think of it as a fun puzzle to solve rather than something to be frustrated by. We can work through it together, figure out what’s getting in the way, and find an approach that makes sense for you.
I know that essays and academic writing can sometimes feel difficult or stressful, especially when you’re not sure how to structure your ideas or where to start. My aim is to make things feel much simpler and more manageable. I like to explain things clearly and work through examples together.
Every student is different, so I adapt my lessons depending on what you need help with. This could be improving your English, working on an essay, preparing for an assignment, developing academic writing skills, or proofreading and improving your work.
I’m very patient and always happy to go through things as many times as needed. I also want you to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes -- that’s a big part of learning! My goal is for you to finish each lesson feeling more confident, having made real progress, and hopefully having enjoyed the process along the way.
I work with students of different ages and abilities, from school and university students to adults. Whether you need ongoing support or just some help with a particular piece of work, I’d be very happy to work with you!

My approach to tutoring is personalised, supportive, and focused on helping each student build both confidence and practical skills. I tailor every lesson to the student’s individual goals, learning style, and current level, whether they are looking to improve their English, strengthen essay writing, develop academic writing skills, prepare for exams, or receive detailed proofreading and feedback.
Teaching Methodology:
I combine clear explanations with practical exercises, guided examples, and constructive feedback. Rather than simply correcting mistakes, I explain why something can be improved and give students strategies they can apply independently. For essay and academic writing, I focus on structure, argument development, clarity, grammar, vocabulary, and effective use of evidence. Lessons are interactive and adapted as the student progresses.
Typical Lesson Length:
Lessons typically last 60 minutes, although I can adapt the length depending on the student’s needs, age, and goals.
Qualifications & Experience:
I have experience supporting students with English language skills, essay writing, academic writing, proofreading, and developing written communication. My tutoring style combines strong attention to detail with an encouraging approach, creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their skills.
Who I Teach:
I work with students across a range of ages and abilities, from secondary-school students to university students and adult learners. I can support students who are looking to improve general English as well as those working on essays, dissertations, theses, applications, or other academic writing. As an international student from the United States, I can also provide extensive insight and support for the US University application process. All lessons can be adapted for beginners through to advanced learners.
