About Alexandra
Hi! I'm Alex. I am a HFE qualified Pilates instructor, Active Health Group qualified Integrative Health and Nutrition Coach, and stretch therapist with 4 years of experience in the Health and Wellness Industry working with a broad range of clients from professional athletes and celebrities to office workers with a sedentary lifestyle creating tailored sessions to meet their personal goals. Pilates and stretching also have lots of holistic benefits that extend beyond strength and flexibility. Not only does the act of stretching the muscles send signals to the brain to trigger the parasympathetic nervous system (state of rest and digest), these classes also provide a space to relax and calm the mind. These sessions are a space to just focus on yourself and forget the stresses of everyday life. This can have hormone balancing effects which can be seen in every aspect of your life from sleep to digestion. As well as the holistic benefits of Pilates, it is also the perfect form of exercise to complement any training style. This is because of its main focus on core strength, which is necessary in all movements. It also strengthens the stabilising muscles which are often neglected in other training styles, yet are important for improving performance. As a 1:1 coach, my priority is ensuring that you achieve your health and fitness goals in a way that is sustainable. I work with you to integrate this as a part of your lifestyle so that you have the skills to maintain it even if we finish our coaching sessions. All of these benefits of Pilates combined with my knowledge as a stretch therapist and health coach allow me to adapt the sessions to be the perfect combination of each aspect depending on what your needs are.

Unlike most Pilates classes, my sessions incorporate my insight as a health coach and background as a stretch therapist, creating holistic sessions targeting your fitness, physical and mental well-being. I offer these sessions as part of a bespoke programme, which can continue on an ongoing basis or be delivered over a fixed period of time. These programmes are tailored to each client depending on their lifestyle and needs. I have previously developed programmes for clients which focus on: - strengthening the core - improving posture - increasing mobility and flexibility - strengthening joints and improving joint stability for injury prevention - alleviating stress and anxiety - strengthening the mind-body connection - improving joint stability - rebalancing from chronic stress The majority of my clients have between 1-3 60 minute sessions a week (a minimum of 1 session a week is required to see results), however I offer flexible scheduling to fit around your busy lifestyle which we can discuss prior to our first class. I offer both in-person classes based in your home or a gym/studio that you have access to, and online classes. Before our first session we will have a quick online discussion about your current health and fitness and your motivations for starting this journey, to see if we are a good match to work together. After our taster session (complimentary), we will then develop some goals to work towards and I will build a programme which works towards these and which complements your lifestyle to give you sustainable and long-term results. My Pilates sessions are the perfect choice for you if you are looking for something that will challenge you and push you to become a better version of yourself, whilst working around your lifestyle. Perfect! Alexandra is the absolute best - she's been my pilates instructor for the past few weeks, and I can't say enough positive things about her. She takes the time to understand your goals, and builds a workout tailored to you. She pushes you to work your hardest while also being incredibly patient. She's always energetic and positive. The workouts are amazing - you work very hard and you leave feeling great. I would recommend Alexandra 100%!

I have never tried Pilates before so everything was completely new to me. Alex is a fantastic, dedicated and very patient tutor who explained everything to me. I am now more intuned with my body. Pilates made me feel so much better and helped me with my back problems. I am slowly moving towards more advance sequences and finding it really enjoyable. I thoroughly recommend Alexandra as she can taylor the program according to your needs and abilities. She is also super friendly and a genuinely nice person.
