I'm Vivian, a math tutor with 20 years of experience helping students in Grade 9-12 prepare for tests and exams across IB, AP, and standard programs.

I hold an Honours Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from the University of Waterloo, and spent over a decade as a Software Developer at IBM.

My passion is helping students build strong math skills and improve their grades by 10– 20%.

iPad & Apple Pencil Requirements for Both Online/In-Person Lessons

Before we arrange the lesson, please let me know if the student has an iPad and Apple Pencil.

I prefer working with students who have this setup for effective tutoring, as it allows me to have a line of sight into the student's work during the week and review their work more efficiently before each lesson.

This is especially important for IB students, as a significant part of the preparation involves independent work outside our tutoring sessions. Having an iPad and Apple Pencil allows me to review, mark, and provide feedback on students' work more efficiently, helping us stay on track and achieve our learning goals.


During the school year,

I tailor each session to reinforce what you're currently learning. My approach includes:

1. Bring the student up to speed on concepts they don't understand.

2. Practice assigned questions first to strengthen understanding of the material covered in class.

3. Build exam/test readiness with mock test questions that range from basic knowledge to higher-level thinking, and learn to recognize and tackle different question types.


After the school year ends,

For those aiming for a 95%+ average, I recommend completing 3 or more mock tests to maximize performance.

These tests are graded so students can see which areas need improvement before the actual test day.

The advertised rate of $40/hour is a special introductory offer for students joining through this platform. This offer applies to the first 4 lessons, which must be completed within 3 weeks of the first lesson.

My standard rate is $80/hour.

I'm sharing this upfront so you are aware of the rate change before committing.

I also believe quality tutoring should be accessible to more families. If my standard rate is beyond your budget, I offer a limited number of online lessons at $40/hour, subject to my weekly availability.

Students must have an iPad and Apple Pencil for online lessons.
