About Dharmaj

I am a Master’s graduate in Civil Engineering from the University of Calgary and currently working as a Civil Engineering Technologist in the oil sands industry in Alberta, Canada.

I also have previous experience teaching Applied Mechanics to students in the United States through the Varsity Tutors platform. This experience helped me understand different learning styles and explain technical concepts in a simple, clear, and practical way.

My teaching approach focuses on building strong fundamentals, using real-life examples, and solving problems step by step. I aim to make learning math easier and more enjoyable while helping students improve their confidence and problem-solving skills.

I offer tutoring support for basic mathematics, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, algebra, geometry, homework, and exam preparation for students in Grades 4–8.

Whether you need help understanding a difficult concept or want to improve your math skills, I am happy to help you learn at your own pace!

About the lesson

Hi! I am a Civil Engineering graduate with a Master of Engineering degree, and I enjoy working with numbers and solving practical problems.

I offer math tutoring for students in Grades 4–8, with a focus on building strong foundations, improving problem-solving skills, and making math easier to understand.

Topics I can help with:

Basic arithmetic, fractions, decimals and percentages

Ratios, rates and proportions

Integers and order of operations

Basic algebra and equations

Geometry, area, perimeter and volume

Word problems, homework and exam preparation

My teaching approach:

I explain concepts step by step using simple examples and practice questions. I focus on helping students understand how to solve problems rather than just memorizing formulas. Lessons can be adjusted to the student's grade level, learning pace and school assignments.

My goal is to help students feel more confident in math and improve their understanding one topic at a time.

Available for: Online tutoring and in-person lessons, depending on location and availability.
