About Sam
I am a PhD student in mathematics at Cardiff University, and I previously obtained a first-class masters (MMath) degree from the University of Nottingham.
I have 4+ years of experience working in tutoring and TA roles at University level, which has involved tutoring students on the fundamentals of Algebra, Calculus and Analysis all the way to the interaction of maths with other areas such as biology and physics.
I believe that maths is about understanding how it works under the surface of many different areas, and am committed to helping my students come away with a deeper understanding of maths, as well as the technical proficiency to solve a range of problems.

Sessions will be one-hour in length as standard, but this is flexible so lessons can be tailored to individual needs.
I believe in a collaborative approach to learning, creating a learning environment that encourages students to try new ideas. Through interactive learning, detailed visual examples and open communication about the techniques involved, I strive to enable students to develop their problem solving skills an ability to identify the underlying mathematical questions that can initial prove challenging to solve.
