About Amy

My name is Amy Banks, and I am delighted to have the opportunity to interview for this position. I am currently a fourth-year student at the University of Pretoria, pursuing my LLB degree. As a tutor, I have a genuine passion for working with children and fostering their natural curiosity by encouraging them to ask questions and explore the subjects they are learning. My approachable and friendly demeanor creates a relaxed learning environment that helps students feel comfortable and confident in their abilities. I strongly believe that tutoring should not only focus on academic success but also equip students with essential skills and techniques that will be beneficial in real-life situations.
As a tutor, it's important to be patient with my students. Everyone learns at their own pace, and it's essential to be able to explain things multiple times or in different ways until my student understands. Different students have different learning styles and needs. As a tutor, being adaptable and willing to adjust my teaching style to suit the student's needs is essential.
I have a positive attitude. It is contagious and can make a huge difference in a student's motivation and willingness to learn. Encouragement and positive reinforcement can go a long way in helping students achieve their academic goals.

About the lesson

I have been providing mathematics tutoring services for the past four years. I have successfully completed the IEB curriculum and possess a high level of proficiency in this subject. My teaching skills are particularly effective when working with students under the age of sixteen, and I am committed to helping them achieve academic success. My tutoring methodology is tailored to suit the unique needs and pace of each student. I acknowledge and accommodate diverse learning styles and techniques to ensure optimal academic performance. Moreover, I possess excellent communication skills in English and can effectively explain complex mathematical concepts to individuals with limited English proficiency. My tutoring approach aims to make learning enjoyable, instill confidence in students, and foster a comfortable learning environment.
