About Opeoluwa Richard
I’m an Engineering graduate from University College Dublin, where I completed a BSc in Electronics & Electrical Engineering and a Master’s in Engineering with Business. I have a strong interest in mathematics, problem-solving and technology, and I enjoy helping others develop their understanding and confidence in these areas.
Outside of work and tutoring, I like to keep active and maintain a good balance between work and hobbies. I play football regularly each week, which I enjoy for both the competitive and social aspects. I’m also a passionate pianist and enjoy playing piano in my spare time, particularly music that challenges me technically and creatively.
I’m a friendly, patient and approachable person, and I enjoy meeting and working with people from different backgrounds. I believe these qualities are important when tutoring, as creating a comfortable environment allows students to ask questions, make mistakes and learn effectively.

My lessons are structured to develop a strong understanding of mathematical concepts rather than relying solely on memorization. I tailor each lesson to the student’s current ability, curriculum and individual goals, whether that is improving foundational knowledge, preparing for exams or aiming for higher grades.
I place a strong emphasis on analytical thinking and problem-solving, helping students understand not only how to solve a question, but why a particular method works. Lessons typically combine clear explanations, worked examples, guided practice and exam-style questions, allowing students to gradually develop independence and confidence.
For GCSE and Leaving Cert students, I can provide focused support across key areas of the syllabus, identify gaps in understanding and work systematically towards improving performance. I also incorporate past-paper questions and exam techniques to help students become familiar with the structure and demands of their examinations.
My aim is to create a focused but supportive learning environment where students can ask questions freely, challenge their understanding and develop the skills required to approach unfamiliar problems with confidence.
