About Faysal
I'm a software engineer with several years of experience working in the tech industry, and I'm now offering tutoring in the subjects I'm most passionate about - Maths and Computer Science.
I've tutored Maths before and genuinely enjoy it. There's something satisfying about the moment a student goes from confused to confident, and that's what keeps me coming back to it. I don't just want students to get the right answer, I want them to understand why it's the right answer so they can handle whatever the exam throws at them.
On the Computer Science side, having a professional background means I can bring the subject to life in a way that goes beyond the syllabus. When students can see how what they're learning connects to the real world, it stops feeling like something they have to get through and starts feeling relevant.
I'm patient, straightforward, and I'll always find a way to explain something differently if the first explanation doesn't land.

My lessons are built around what each student actually needs. Some students need to go back to basics and rebuild their confidence, others are aiming for top marks and need someone to push them. Either way, the goal is always the same: making sure things are properly understood rather than just memorised for the exam.
For Computer Science I bring something most tutors can't, which is that I do this for a living. Working as a software engineer means I can explain why things work the way they do, not just what the textbook answer is. Students who find the subject abstract tend to find that real world context makes a big difference.
For Maths the focus is on getting the fundamentals solid first, then building up to past papers and exam technique. In my experience most students who are struggling aren't finding the content too hard, they just have gaps from earlier in the curriculum that were never properly addressed. So the first thing I do is figure out where those gaps are.
Lessons are online and flexible, easy to fit around school and other commitments. I'm happy to work from your own notes and past papers or plan sessions from scratch depending on what's most useful.
