About Freya

I'm a 24 year old mechanical engineer currently working for a large aerospace company, with dreams of one day going to space! I achieved A* in maths and further maths A-level and graduated the University of Leeds with a first class masters degree in mechanical engineering. I feel very passionately about inspiring younger people into STEM. I was lucky enough to be encouraged into this (my dream!) sector and would like everyone to have the same opportunities I did.

About the lesson

I am able to teach all ages, with previous tutoring experience ranging from 6-42. I can support development through SATS to A-level, and will ensure each lesson is completely personalised to the students needs, which can be discussed prior to the first lesson.

I aim to work in just the right sized steps so the pupil can see their own progress and feel rewarded but also maintain interest and not feel bored. We can work through any questions they have as homework or from past exam papers as well as going through weaker topics from scratch. We will be able to see their progress from watching how successfully they can answer past exam questions on the said topic while using the right technique. I have also been taught by tutors and in the process picked up tricks that I use in my teaching.

I also understand the lack of gender diversity within STEM, and I would hope to inspire any female students who feel blocked from the industry. I would be happy to discuss career paths, and talk through my (slightly rocky) journey to get here!
