About Carmen

I am a former medical doctor with over 10 years of tutoring experience, currently working as a strategy consultant in London. Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have developed strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, which I bring into every lesson.

I specialise in teaching Maths and Sciences from primary school up to GCSE level, and I focus on creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence. I understand that every student learns differently, so I tailor my teaching style and lesson structure to suit each individual’s needs and goals.

I pride myself on being reliable, patient, and well-prepared, and I aim not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them develop long-term confidence and independent learning skills.

About the lesson

I take a personalised and supportive approach to tutoring, tailoring each lesson to the individual student’s needs and learning style. I usually encourage students to choose the topics they would like to focus on, whether that’s strengthening weaker areas, preparing for exams, or building confidence in class content. Lessons are interactive and focused on making difficult concepts easier to understand through clear explanations, worked examples, and practice questions.

I have been tutoring for over 10 years and teach students from primary school through to GCSE level in Maths and Sciences. My background as a former medical doctor and current strategy consultant has given me strong analytical and communication skills, which I bring into my teaching style.

Lessons are typically 1–2 hours long and usually take place on weekends or Friday evenings. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them become more confident and independent learners.
