About Ishaan

I am a continual learner and an aspirant of curiosity.
My interests in English range from post-modern literature to online blogs; from Kafka to Enid Blyton.

That is exactly why I believe I make for a good teacher: my wholesome interest in English. I believe English & Literature is an incredibly lucid and engaging subject that should be cherished, and I will be looking to evoke the same theme within my students.

Focusing on understanding and comprehension is key; it is highly important to get the basics right before progressing to the more explorative aspects. Hence, after I completed my high school and before I commenced my formal education at a university, I spent two terms at a university in the UK, looking to learn more about both the English language and the culture.

Hence, I will be able to provide both substance and experience as we journey our way through the language!

My brief qualities as a teacher:

Relatable - being a continual student myself, I know the whole ordeal from both the perspectives of the student and the parent! I can relate the material to you in order to facilitate a more pleasant and enjoyable learning experience.

Compassion - I understand it may be difficult to learn some topics, especially when they are new, but that is what makes them exciting and that is what I wish to evoke in a student.

Perceptive - given the opportunity to get to know you through a few lessons, I will be able to tailor my teaching to best capture your attention and enthusiasm for the subject.

Therefore, I hope to attain a fruitful experience for both my students and I as we engage on the topic of learning.

About the lesson

The approach used by me for my students entirely revolves around engagement.
I find that a blended methodology of personal and professional techniques best motivates and allows for comprehension of material.

I also ensure that I tailor my teaching style and methodology to attend to the specific needs and requirements of my current student.

My brief qualifications:
A Level Graduate - 4 credits
IELTS - Band 8.5
IGCSE - 7 credits
(Currently in med school)

My experience as a tutor:
Taught primary school children English and programming as part of my community service - 3 months.
Tutored up till the level of secondary school level - 1 year.

My lessons are entirely flexible and completely dependent upon the needs of the student and any input from parents.
A typical lesson ranges from 1-2 hours, 2-3 days a week.
I am always willing to make adjustments in my schedule to match with the requirements requested for.
