About Kirsten
I am a current medical student at Oxford University with experience tutoring students of varying ages, but particularly at A Level and GCSE level. My previous students include those who have secured offers for medicine and veterinary sciences after their A Levels. I am very passionate about fostering enthusiasm for the sciences in students.

My lessons are available for A Level, GCSE level and younger students in biology, chemistry or physics. I have experience tutoring students of varying ages in all 3 of these subjects, particularly (but not exclusively) for students interested in applying to medical or related university courses.
My lessons typically last around 1 hour, beginning with a quick recall from previous lessons. The form that the bulk of the lesson then takes depends heavily on the age of the student (ie. much larger focus on application of knowledge for A Levels than for GCSE and below), as well as the student's individual interests. For example, students interested in veterinary sciences may be interested to understand how the biochemical processes they are learning about relate to different species. I place a large emphasis on learning the student's interests and tailoring my lessons as such, as I find that this greatly improves motivation. The sessions are also primarily moulded by their learning style and what they find works for them, and I regularly check in with the student to ensure that this is the case.
Overall, my aim for my lessons is to nurture an excitement for the subject and stimulate curiosity and motivation within the student, as well as thoroughly preparing them for any examinations.
