About Andrew
I’m a 4th-year medical student currently conducting orthopedic surgery research in Miami, FL. Beyond my medical training, I’ve developed a deep passion for tutoring and mentorship—shaped by my own experience navigating high school and college without strong academic guidance. Over the past 8+ years, I’ve worked with students at the middle school, high school, university, and medical school levels. During my undergraduate years, I tutored extensively in ACT preparation, AP Biology, and Calculus, helping students improve their test scores and master challenging material. In medical school, I expanded my role as an academic mentor by serving as a teaching assistant in anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry, supporting fellow medical students in some of the most demanding courses of their education. These experiences have sharpened my ability to explain complex material in simple, effective ways tailored to each student’s learning style. Before entering medical school, I played NCAA Division I soccer for nationally ranked programs, proudly serving as team captain for two years. During that time, I also worked as a technical trainer, coaching middle school and high school athletes. That leadership experience—on the field and in the classroom—taught me the importance of structure, consistency, and individualized support. I know how discouraging it can be to work with tutors who simply recite information. My approach is different: I focus on active learning, long-term retention, and personalized encouragement, helping students not just succeed, but thrive. Whether you're preparing for a standardized exam or facing a tough science course, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

My teaching philosophy is built on the understanding that every student learns differently. I provide a generalized structured lesson plan that serves as a consistent framework, but it is uniquely tailored to each student's learning style, goals, and needs. As both a medical student and former Division I athlete, I’ve learned firsthand that academic growth comes from identifying and strengthening weaknesses while reinforcing existing strengths. I apply that same mindset with my students by offering targeted, supportive, and engaging lessons that promote both confidence and content mastery. To help students retain material outside of sessions, I can provide customized Anki flashcard decks, a spaced-repetition tool widely used by medical professionals to efficiently review and retain large volumes of information. This combination of structured guidance, personalized instruction, and evidence-based study tools helps students not only succeed in the short term but also build long-term academic resilience.
I bring over 8 years of combined tutoring and coaching experience, spanning both academic and athletic settings. My background as a successful pre-med student, Division I athlete, and current medical student gives me a unique perspective on managing high-stakes learning under pressure. I specialize in connecting abstract concepts to real-world applications, helping students understand not just what they’re learning, but why it matters.
Whether you're preparing for your next AP exam, navigating a challenging university course, or building a strong foundation for the MCAT, I’m here to help you learn effectively and efficiently.
