About Alex

Hello, I'm Alex, I am in my final year of medical school currently studying in the South West. While my primary focus is on medicine, I've always had a keen interest in mathematics. Beyond maths, I'm also here to support you in subjects like chemistry, biology and English or even medical school applications. Having now regularly sat exams for the majority of my life (and it seems like that won't be changing anytime soon) I have acquired many test-taking techniques and study approaches that have got me through them which I can pass on to you. About the lesson

I am a recognised tutor having worked for other platforms in the past, I have almost 5 years of experience teaching and providing support to students studying maths and sciences across a broad range of levels. This helped many achieve higher grades and given them deeper knowledge on the subjects they are taking. My qualifications include: - A*A*A at Maths, Biology and Chemistry A-level - A mixture of 9s and 8s at GCSE, with an 8 in maths - Currently studying in my 5th year of medical school I can provide support with Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and additionally with my knowledge of navigating medical school admissions I would happily provide support with applications and interviews. Lesson structures will be tailored to the student, with regular tests and quizzes to reinforce what has been learnt and to judge performance and level. Every lesson will be based on the needs of the student, with topics based around areas of improvement. Students can request the topics learnt during the lesson. I am very happy to be flexible with the pace at which we work, catering to every skill level. I personally found using practice papers and old exams a really good tool for when I was studying to take my GCSE exams and so regularly during my lessons, I will use practice questions taken directly from old exams to aid your learning. As well as this, every week, I will set homework to complete a chosen past test which I will mark and review any problems with you in the following week's lesson. This, of course, is not obligatory as I completely understand school homework may already be stacking up!

Perfect! Alex established an excellent rapport with my son, and he established goals for science at the outset and identified the topics my son needs to work on. His explanations are easy to understand. His lessons are clear and well-organised, with helpful powerpoint presentations. He tests the materials at regular intervals. Highly recommended!
