About Leilani
Memorization techniques, sight transposition, sight reading, sight playing, and scales and arpeggios define my technical toolkit. My fingers dance across the ivory keys as I recall the early morning practice sessions from my childhood years. With 13 years of teaching experience, I have refined the art of building mechanical ability while protecting the sheer joy of musical expression.
Having worked with 192 students, I find that a solid structural foundation makes complex music feel manageable. Perhaps we could start with a brief chat about your goals.

Performers stand under the bright stage lights, feeling the resonance of a perfectly executed final chord vibrate through the wooden floor. This moment of clarity arrives after we conduct a diagnostic playing assessment to set a clear learning plan.
My MMus from Queensland Conservatorium informs how I simplify sight reading and complex arpeggios into digestible segments for you. You will find that these sessions prioritize accuracy alongside the emotional narrative of the piece. I find that the best music happens when the player stops thinking about the notes and starts telling a story. It is a pleasure to watch students move from silence to a full performance within 8 terms.
