About Kevin
I've been involved in music since fifth grade loved it since! As a performer, I was heavily involved in my high school's music program being involved in: the advanced jazz band (drum set), advanced choir (baritone), musical pit (drum set/auxiliary percussion), show band (vibraphone/tenor drums), and undefeated indoor percussion (drum set/tenor drums). I was also offered spots to play the vibraphone with the world-class Seattle Cascades Drum Corps and tenor drums with the world-class Oregon Crusaders Indoor. In college, I've performed with my school's drumline, percussion ensemble, orchestra, wind ensemble, and Arab music ensemble. I currently study music education at Cal Poly, Pomona. As a performer, audiences love my energy and expressiveness.
I currently teach at Kamiak High School and Harbour Pointe Middle School. At Kamiak, I specialize in teaching the battery percussion and help with the front ensemble. At Harbour Pointe, I co-manage the battery. I organize rehearsals while teaching the music, the marching drill, and technique along the way.
As a teacher, students love my laid-back nature and patience to create a stress-free learning environment. I customize my lessons to fit individual students' goals and experience. I love teaching because I get to meet so many different people with varying backgrounds, and I would love to meet you too!

With all students, I personalize the lessons to meet their goals on their specific instrument. I teach a variety of instruments (marching percussion, drum set, orchestral percussion) with high variations in skill levels (percussion beginners to college drumline players). I will use both repertoire I compose and outside sources throughout the study in 45-minute lessons.
Students enjoy my laid-back nature and stress-free environment. Alongside this, I push students to be their best selves. I constantly ask them questions on their performances and remind them to try their hardest and always be striving to improve.
