My teaching is based on prior knowledge & attainment. Once we establish a level of ability & learner goals, we can develop a course structured around budget, timeframe & resources. Lessons will start with some context / theory and questioning to tease out prior knowledge & understanding, and then develop on to practical application & exercises.
I have taught music technology, performance, studio & live engineering, mixing & mastering in a further education college for 11 years, with a very high achievement rate for the courses I teach (on average above 95%).
Prior to teaching I worked in the industry for a commercial studio (Konk) & EMI music publishing for a total of 13 years with many engineering & production credits.
I continue to make independent records in and around the south west, as well as occasionally providing live sound for small to medium size gigs.
