About Myriam

Myriam started studying harpsichord at the age of seven at the CIM Padre Antonio Soler, Madrid. She began receiving singing lessons with Gabriel Díaz, countertenor, in 2019; especially
focusing on Baroque repertoire, which by then had already become her most prominent area of interest.
She has attended historical singing courses imparted by Carlos Mena at the University of Salamanca, Spain; received a masterclass from members of the Florilegium Early Music
Ensemble and completed the Vocal Summer School for Classical Singers at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2022. Myriam has widely performed as a soloist in venues such as the Real Oratorio Caballero de Gracia and Teatro Fernández Baldor in Madrid, Spain. More recently, she sang as a soloist in London with baroque ensembles Follia and the Stanesby Players, and in the University Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Oxford, with Il Labirinto Armonico. In 2022, she joined the Royal College of Music Junior Dept. to study harpsichord and vocal studies under the guidance of Jane Chapman and Margaret Cameron. She studied her A-levels at Ashbourne College, with a 100% music scholarship. She was nominated by Ashbourne College as the 'most remarkable sixth form student' and is part of the 2023 Lexden Prize Roll of Honour.
Furthermore, she has been awarded a grant from ‘Miss E.B. Wrightson's Charitable Trust' and a grant from the ‘Monica & Quintin Des Clayes Awards' by 'Awards for Young Musicians',
endowed annually to 25 promising young musicians in the UK from low-income families. Myriam is currently reading Music as a choral scholar at Girton College, University of Cambridge; where she is part of the Girton College Chapel Choir, and the Cambridge University Chamber Choir. She has recently been awarded the 'Daphne Bird Instrumental Exhibitioner'
and thus conferred with the status of Scholar at Girton College. She has been selected to participate in the CAMRAM Scheme, where in addition to her studies at Cambridge, she will
receive harpsichord tuition from Carole Cerasi at the Royal Academy of Music during the 2024/2025 academic year.

About the lesson

I have a broad range of expertise in various disciplines regarding music theory. I am happy to help with harmony or counterpoint at different levels from beginner to advanced, as it is one of my main fields of expertise, having helped several students prepare their Bach Chorale exercise for Music A-level. Furthermore, I am proficient in music composition, history, and more basic levels of music theory, preparing students for ABSMR exams or GCSE exams.

I can provide a tailored methodology for every student, depending if they want to focus on a discipline or develop their holistic understanding of music theory and music.

My lessons are usually one hour long, but I am happy to adapt to each student's preference.
