About Helena

I am a sixth form student, currently studying at Peter Symonds College. I have a grade 5 in music theory, and I am also studying music as part of my A Levels. While studying for my GCSE in music, I helped out many of my friends in learning theory, and therefore have become very proficient in different teaching methods to help with teaching music theory.

About the lesson

My teaching methods vary from person to person, but generally, I prefer to go through the basic information regarding the topic of the lesson, after which I like to work through some example questions with the student, so that I can make sure they fully understand, after which I like to give them some questions to work through on their own.

Helena has been my tutor for a few months now, and she always brings so much joy and enthusiasm to our lessons. She's just so knowledgable, and the fact that she backs up her teaching with more interactive elements is really helpful for me. She also sometimes will use videos/documentaries to back up her teaching, which I find useful, as I tend to learn better when visual aids are involved.

Helena is one of the most kind, intelligent, funny, and helpful people I know. When we were doing our GCSEs, she would help me brush up on some areas that I desperately needed to study on, and the fact that we’ve only recently completed our GCSEs to me shows that she is good at really connecting with the student, as she was so recently in the same boat as them.
