About Kate
I am a dedicated piano tutor with 15 years of experience teaching students of all ages, from school children to college students and working professionals. My teaching philosophy focuses on patience, encouragement, and understanding each student's unique learning style. I aim to make lessons enjoyable, productive, and meaningful while helping students develop technical skills, musical knowledge, and creative expression. My teaching approach focuses on compassion, positivity, and clear communication. I believe piano learning should be encouraging and well-structured. I start with piano fundamentals such as posture, hand position, finger movement, rhythm, and note reading. Lessons are explained clearly and patiently using simple language. I maintain open communication with students. I listen to their concerns and provide clear feedback and encouragement to support progress. Along with piano, I teach music theory, scales, chords, sight reading, ear training, and basic improvisation. These subjects help students become confident musicians. I also guide students in building good practice habits. My supportive teaching style helps students enjoy learning piano and achieve steady improvement.
