About the lesson

Hi, my name is Hamza and I am a first year medical student at UCL. I love studying medicine, mainly because it is the perfect mix of learning about the human body and interacting with patients, and I also really enjoy the diversity that studying medicine brings about.

Applying to university to study medicine was a long process, and involved studying for lots of exams, not just A levels and GCSEs but also different entrance exams and interviews. Due to the sheer number of exams I had to study for, I developed revision and learning methods which worked well for me, and I can use these for students in lessons, including visual techniques, flashcards and spaced repetition.

I will tailor each session to the individual needs of the student, firstly addressing their weak points in the subject area and then moving on to ensure they have a thorough understanding and appreciation for the concepts in their specification. Bearing in mind the exams, I will ensure that past paper questions are integrated into the teachings, which will enable students to test their own abilities, as well as work on their exam technique. Lessons will be also be planned beforehand to ensure the student receives the most benefit from the session.
