Hi! my name is Tony Parr, I am a highly experienced teacher with experience lecturing and teaching in Secondary schools, Further and Higher Education at colleges. my main subjects are Design, Art and Media.

I have taught a wide profile of age groups from 11 to mature Adult. I am most experienced in working with 15 - 19 year-olds where I have 30 years of experience having taught over a 1000 students on GCSE, A Level, Diploma and Foundation Degree programmes in colleges and Schools.

I have taught on BA Hon’s programmes of study as a senior lecturer.

I have worked in the Creative sector in London as a Professional Photographer, Graphic Designer and Advertising Production Director over a ten year period and a such have real experience of the workplace and can advise and guide learners within the subjects I teach.

I am currently a Course Director running a course in Creative Media at a College of Further Education working with over 50 students.

Summery:

• Have 30 years experience in teaching at Secondary school, Further and Higher education at a senior level working as a Course / Subject manager and a Course Director
• Have 10 years working in the Creative sector based in London. My roles were in Advertising, Photography & Graphic Design
• Are currently a Course Director in Creative Media managing and teaching Level 2 and 3 Diploma's in a College of Education (Further Education).
• Have extensive online teaching experience mainly using Zoom.
• Have a wide teaching knowledge in the area of Media.
• Have a wide experience in teaching studio, location and digital Photography / imaging.
• Have an in depth experience in teaching Graphic Design and Typography for publishing, packaging, retail and design for online products.
• Have current and progressive experience in Sound and Music, use of digital tools in sound and music (Digital Audio workstations - DAW's)
• Have educational and professional software skills teaching using Adobe Photoshop, Premier Pro and Audition, Apple (Logic Pro), Native instruments (Sound).

About the lesson

My approach is to create tasks based on your needs. These tasks can form projects and will involve you developing work that can be discussed and assessed based on each session.

All study should be enjoyable and rewarding - and to achieve this I will discuss how we will do the work and agree the method that we use.

I like to make all sessions as practical as possible with you being involved in the process at all times so we can create a working dialogue and share ideas - and ensure that you are always involved and feel you can contribute to the lesson.

A lesson should be for a maximum of a one-hour in length. There should be a 10 minute review at a suitable mid-point in the lesson. Practical sessions could be longer but generally I would not recommend this.

I have 30 years experience teaching in Schools and Further Education College's. I am a fully qualified teacher and a Course Team leader / Course Director. I currently Course Direct and teach a Level 2 Creative Media course at a College of Further Education

My main teacher expertise in the age group 15 -20 years old. I have also taught 11 -14 and adults. I do not teach at primary level (under 10 years old).
