To whom it may concern,

I am writing to express my interest in securing a part-time teaching position. Having been a successful high school Physics and Mathematics instructor as well as an experienced Engineer and Scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory for the past 21 years, I feel that my unique blend of experience and talent will allow me to excite the next generation of young adults wanting to pursue a career in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Having been fortunate enough to achieve a myriad of professional goals in my career, I would like to seek new challenges while in-parallel having an opportunity to give back to my community.

I am aware that a position in the arena of education involves balancing theory, experience, and practical application while additionally having a responsibility to motivate the next generation of young engineers and scientists. As a life-long educator, I have a passion for leveraging my in-depth knowledge of the physical sciences to help bridge the gap between academia and practice. As the preeminent leader in the robotic space exploration of Earth and Planetary Science, it is unquestionable that JPL has awarded me with a unique platform for inspiring each and every one of my students. Over the years, that dedication and commitment has translated into four of my former AP Physics students earning full time employment opportunities alongside me at JPL.
