Hello! I am Leonardo, I'm originally from Chile, and I am currently 22 years old. I speak Spanish and Portuguese since I was a child, and I have a great interest in learning new languages, which arose from a very young age.
At 14, I had already studied some on my own, some I learned successfully over time (such as Catalan, Korean, or Indonesian), and others that, unfortunately, I had to leave behind. At 19, I achieved my TOEFL B2 certificate as I worked as a private English teacher for the younger siblings of my friends and family in my city, Valdivia. The joy of learning new languages never went away, so after some time working full-time, I decided to quit doing what I love to do the most!

About the lesson

Olá! / E aí? My name is Leonardo, and I am an English, Korean, and Portuguese private teacher. This course is aimed at anyone interested in studying the language seriously and whoever needs help with their studies.

The Portuguese to be taught will be Brazilian Portuguese, starting with the standardized speech, then adding local expressions and idioms. I consider the spoken language to be fundamental in teaching a language, despite how frowned upon it is for classes, since it removes formality. However, in the same way as in Spanish, speaking with idioms and expressions that the native speakers themselves use will always make a difference when starting conversations and meeting new people. It is as fundamental as formal language!

My method is simple; you will use the language even if you don't know how to speak it well. How come? I teach using the same techniques I used when I was learning my target languages, which is, in short, forcing myself to speak it [fake it 'till you make it!], which is why I recommend it so much (or at least giving it a try, since each person has a different way of learning c:).
