About Liyah
I grew up in an international school where all of my courses were taught in both French and English, giving me a strong academic and everyday foundation in both languages. French was a mandatory part of my education, and I have completed multiple French language and literacy examinations throughout my schooling. As a native French and English speaker, I understand both languages from an academic and conversational perspective, allowing me to clearly explain French to English-speaking students. I’m passionate about making French approachable, practical, and enjoyable to learn.

My approach to French is practical, conversational, and tailored to you. Rather than relying solely on textbooks and memorization, we’ll focus on real-life situations and the French you’ll actually use. Every lesson is customized around your goals, whether you want to travel, feel more confident speaking with native speakers, improve your pronunciation, prepare for an exam, or simply become more comfortable having conversations in French. I also like incorporating French music, TV, movies, pop culture, current news, and sports into lessons. These are great ways to learn contemporary expressions, slang, cultural references, and the way French is actually spoken today. A typical lesson may include conversation practice, useful vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar when needed, and realistic scenarios like ordering at a restaurant, meeting new people, traveling, or discussing something you’ve recently watched or heard. As a native French and English speaker, I can explain French from both perspectives and help English speakers understand not only what to say, but why it is said that way. Lessons are suitable for beginners through intermediate students and can be adapted to your individual level, goals, and learning style.
