About Nicole

Bonjour!

I was born and raised in Brittany, France, and I have always had a love for languages and education.

I studied English and linguistics for four years at university in Paris before moving to Canada, where I later obtained my teaching certificate from the University of British Columbia (UBC).

I have spent over 35 years teaching, including French at the University of Northern British Columbia in Prince George, as well as working as a substitute teacher in elementary and high schools.

Over the years, I have had the pleasure of meeting and teaching many wonderful students of all ages.

I am now retired from full-time teaching, but I still love what I do. Languages have always been a big part of my life, and I find great joy in sharing my knowledge and helping others learn.

I also enjoy sharing a little of my French background and culture with my students.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you discover the French language!

About the lesson

I have been teaching French for over 35 years, and I have learned that every student is different. Some people learn quickly through conversation, while others need more time with grammar, reading, or writing. I always try to adapt my lessons to each student's needs and pace.

I like to begin by getting to know my students, their level of French, and what they would like to achieve. From there, we can work on pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, or simply having conversations in French. I also enjoy sharing a little about French culture and everyday life in France.

Having taught at the university level as well as in elementary and high schools, I have experience working with students of many different ages and abilities.

My lessons are open to children, teenagers, and adults, whether they are complete beginners, need help with schoolwork, or simply wish to improve their French.

I believe patience and encouragement are very important when learning a language. I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, because that is how we learn.

Most of all, I hope my students will enjoy learning French as much as I enjoy teaching it!
