About Juliana

I was born in Brazil and grew up in Switzerland, where I obtained my baccalaureate. I am now based in Melbourne, studying for a Bachelor’s degree in Photography while also teaching French in a language school. Beyond my academic path, I am passionate about art, traveling, human interactions, psychology, education, and personal development. These interests nourish my teaching, as I see language as a way to grow, connect, and better understand ourselves, others and the world we live in.

About the lesson

French is my native language, and I am also fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, and English. Over the years, I have studied German, Greek, and Latin, and I am currently learning Indonesian. My love for languages has shaped the way I see the world. I believe each new language is a doorway to new cultures, perspectives, and human connections.
I teach French at all levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners, and adapt my lessons according to each student’s needs, goals, and personality. Whether you want to improve your grammar, expand your vocabulary, work on conversation and pronunciation, or prepare for exams, I will create a supportive and motivating environment where learning feels natural and enjoyable.
As someone who has been both teacher and learner in many languages, I know very well what it feels like to start from zero, to make mistakes, and to sometimes feel lost. This experience makes me a very empathetic teacher: I encourage my students to embrace the process of being a beginner again, to let go of fear, and to see each step forward as a success. I also believe that learning a new language should be fun, since positive emotions significantly enhance memory and help you retain what you learn.
My teaching approach is intuitive, interactive, and very flexible to your needs. I integrate the four key skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. I also keep paying close attention to confidence building and real-life communication. Depending on the student, I use a mix of resources such as authentic texts, videos, role-playing, interactive exercises, and personalized materials. Every lesson is a space for curiosity, exploration, active participation and fun!
What I enjoy most about teaching is the exchange it creates. Languages give us the opportunity to connect with so many more people, and I love guiding students through this journey. My goal is not only to help you progress in French but also to make you discover the joy of learning and expressing yourself in another language.
