About Jaesung

Hi, I'm Jaesung! I'm a native Korean speaker who recently moved to Calgary on a Working Holiday visa. Back in Korea, I studied Applied Music and worked in a variety of roles, including managing a café, performing as a drummer, and teaching, which taught me how to explain things clearly and adapt to different people's needs. I love meeting new people, learning about different cultures, and helping others feel confident using a new language. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy exploring my new home city and staying active. I'm looking forward to getting to know my students and helping you reach your Korean goals!

About the lesson

As a native Korean speaker, I focus on teaching trendy, real-life Korean that people actually use today — not just textbook phrases — so you can speak naturally in everyday situations, including understanding K-pop and Korean media. With a background in music, I pay close attention to rhythm and pronunciation, which helps lessons feel natural rather than robotic. Whether you're a complete beginner learning Hangeul for the first time or an advanced learner polishing your fluency, I'll tailor each lesson to your level and goals. I'm patient, easygoing, and genuinely enjoy getting to know my students.

This person is really kind and listens closely to what I say. When I don’t know something, they explain it kindly, and they keep things from getting boring. They’re not too serious, so they’re fun to be around.
