About Elisha
Hi, I'm Elisha "Ace" Denham - a native speaker from the USA, passionate English teacher and family man. Born and raised in America, I have an academic background in physics and astrophysics before finding my way into the IT industry. Today I live in Germany with my wife and our two children, where I pass on my knowledge and experience - both professionally and through my English lessons.
I have been teaching English for over six years and have worked with students of all ages: from exchange students in the USA to children, young adults and adults during my four years in Japan. My teaching is lively, practical and unconventional. I use modern media such as YouTube videos, cartoons and film scenes to teach English in a real-life context. It is important to me that my students not only learn the language but also understand and use it.
As a teacher, I attach great importance to adapting to the individual needs of my students. I am fluent in German and can explain in German when necessary - but mostly I stick to English to promote immersion and learning success. My lessons are aimed at anyone who wants to improve their English skills, whether beginner or advanced.

In my classes, I place great emphasis on practical learning and immersion. I use modern media such as YouTube videos, cartoons and film scenes to teach English in real-life contexts. Each lesson is individually tailored to the needs and level of my students. We typically start with a short review and then move on to interactive exercises that promote listening comprehension, vocabulary and use in conversations. As a native speaker from the USA, I bring an authentic American accent and explain in German if necessary - but try to avoid this as much as possible in order to maximize the learning process. My classes are aimed at schoolchildren, students and adults, regardless of language level. My goal is to make learning English fun, effective and relevant to everyday life.
