Starting lessons with Fiona was one of the best decisions I ever made. Not only did I massively improve with my music theory, but my love for music blossomed. I also struggle with dyslexia, so while teaching me music theory, Fiona found ways to adapt her teaching to meet my learning style. I honestly couldn’t recommend Fiona enough!

Fiona took over teaching flute and saxophone to my 2 daughters when the school’s were closed due to covid. We have continued lessons with Fiona and have been having lessons for 2 years now.

She is an amazing person and very well-respected in this community. My daughter has taken flute lessons from Fiona from grade 6 to 8 (achieved distinctions in all) and finally achieved a diploma before heading off for uni. Fiona was excellent at teaching not only the technical aspects of flute playing, but also how to communicate and interpret a piece to give an effective performance. I am tremendously grateful to her for everything she taught my daughter and the joy her music brought to our family and that she can continue to enjoy playing the flute at uni.

Fiona has been teaching me flute for a couple of years now. She is patient, always stretching me to attempt ever more complicated pieces. When I think I have reached the limits of my ability and she introduces me to new techniques and encourages me to keep progressing. I would highly recommend Fiona as a flute teacher.

My husband and I first came across Fiona prior to retirement. We both harboured a long held desire to learn about music and play a musical instrument. We find her to be patient and intuitive, constantly gauging our respective abilities on a session by session basis. Instruction is therefore set to stretch us slightly, but in a manageable way. As a result our competence has steadily improved at the same time as being a thoroughly enjoyable and satisfying experience.

As a mature student with very limited ability I was nervous about learning an instrument. Fiona’s professionalism and patience, combined with a good sense of humour, very quickly put me at ease. With her help I have achieved more than I ever thought I could. An easy recommendation for all ages!
