About Whitney
"Piano became my primary tool for self-accompaniment when I started auditioning in NYC because I needed a way to present myself with total confidence. I graduated with a BFA from Carnegie Mellon School of Drama which gave me a deep appreciation for the technical rigor behind a performance. These 12 years of professional performing taught me that even the most talented performers benefit from a structured approach to scales and arpeggios. I draw on my background to help grade exam candidates and teens master hand independence and sight transposition.
Watching a student achieve clarity in their posture and hand position is rewarding. It is a genuine pleasure to help advanced learners connect with the music they play."

"A typical session feels like a collaborative diagnostic workshop where we break down complex pieces into manageable sections. I have taught 98 students who all started with a diagnostic playing assessment to set a learning plan. We spend time on classical repertoire and pop and contemporary styles to ensure your ears are sharp. Ear training and rhythm and timing are the backbone of my technical approach.
I utilize my 12 years of experience to guide your progress through ABRSM or Trinity grade exam prep. You will find that mastering pedaling technique makes every practice session enjoyable."
