About Talia
I am a piano tutor with 5 years of experience and a Bachelor of Arts in Musicology, with a focus on Piano History. My lessons are designed for students who want to explore jazz piano, from improvisation and comping to advanced harmonic development. I integrate theory, transcription, and ear training to build both skill and musical intuition.
Students work on chord voicings, substitutions, and creating melodic solos. Rhythmic precision and harmonic understanding are emphasised at every stage. My approach fosters creativity, confidence, and a personal connection to the music.
I have guided Early Intermediate to Advanced Intermediate students, as well as professional jazz musicians refining their improvisation skills. Lessons are structured but flexible, adapting to each student’s goals. Jazz becomes a language for self-expression and exploration.

My teaching blends classical piano skills with the possibilities of modern technology. Lessons cover synthesisers, digital pianos, DAWs, and recording techniques. Students learn to combine traditional piano mastery with creative exploration.
We focus on improvisation, layering, sound design, and composing with electronics. I guide The Classical Performer and The Child Prodigy to integrate modern tools with traditional skills. Each lesson balances technical growth with musical imagination.
Mistakes are welcomed as part of the learning process. Lessons are tailored to each student’s skill level and goals. Creativity and experimentation are encouraged.
The aim is to make your piano sound bigger, more versatile, and expressive. Students leave each session confident and inspired to explore new musical possibilities.
