About Angela
Angela B graduated from Delaware Valley College with a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice. She went on to receive her master’s in human services from Capella University. After working for several years assisting disadvantaged adults with various mental health struggles, she realized her passion was for helping children.
After watching her own children struggle to learn how to read for almost 20 years, Angela realized there was a need for reading interventions in her area. She received training through the Reed Charitable Foundation, in the Orton-Gillingham method to teaching students with dyslexia. She has taught her own children to read, and has used these methods to work with other children in her area.
Angela has worked one-on-one with students kindergarten through high school, to improve reading and spelling abilities. She uses multi-sensory methods that engage visual, auditory, and kinesthetic senses to help reinforce learning. Reading is taught through structured and sequential lessons which build upon each other, ensuring that students master one concept before moving to the next. All lessons are individually tailored to meet the specific needs of each student.
