About Joshua

I am a second-year undergraduate at Oxford University, currently studying for a degree in Jurisprudence (MA Law). Beyond the study of law, I am particularly interested in History and Politics, both of which I studied at A-Level. I attained three A*s at A-Level and nine A*s at IGCSE.

During several summer schools, I have worked for the John Locke Institute as 'Residential Dean,' where I taught history and constitutional law in large classes and small precept groups. I am also the Director of Press at the Oxford Union and have been privately tutoring for a number of years.

My co-curricular passions include Rugby, cycling, and Land Rover Defenders!

Outside of term time, I live in Jersey. However, I offer Zoom tutorials and am happy to travel and act as a residential tutor.

About the lesson

I aim to establish a clear goal with my students at the beginning of our course of tutorials. This could be improving essay writing skills, reducing waffle, or brushing up on a particular topic. I will typically discuss these potential goals with the student in a complimentary half an hour session, before which I will ask to see a piece of school work. Following that meeting, I will produce a lesson plan for review by the student, which may include face-to-face subject teaching, essay writing tutorials, or simple revision sessions. After that, my lessons are entirely tailored to the goals, requirements, and timetable of my client.
