About Lacey

I’m a singing tutor with over six years of teaching experience and a Licentiate of Music in Voice. I specialize in working with adult beginners, hobbyists, and those returning to singing after time away. My approach is calm, supportive, and free from pressure—because learning to sing should feel inspiring, not intimidating. In my lessons, I focus on breathwork, vocal relaxation, posture, and mindfulness in music. I believe that when your body and mind are in harmony, your voice naturally follows. Together, we work on tone development, confidence, and expressive connection to every song. I teach a variety of styles including Jazz, Folk, Blues, and Contemporary Adult music, helping students explore their unique sound in the genres they love. My goal is to make singing a joyful practice of self-care, creativity, and personal growth. Whether you’re starting for the first time or rediscovering your voice, I’ll meet you where you are—with patience, encouragement, and enthusiasm. Let’s begin your singing journey, at any age, with confidence and joy.

About the lesson

For **The Church Ensemble Player**, the journey begins with mastering harmony and blend. Focus on breath support, tonal warmth, and clarity to suit choral settings, ensuring every note enriches the collective sound. Transitioning into solo performances, adapt vibrato control and phrasing to add individuality without losing ensemble sensitivity. Regularly practice with a metronome to refine timing and synchronization with the group.

For **The Crossover Artist**, versatility is key. Develop vocal agility to glide between classical precision, pop brightness, and jazz smoothness. Experiment with dynamic contrasts and improvisation to bring each genre’s emotion alive. Use pitch training apps to fine-tune intonation and adapt your resonance for different styles—open and rich for classical, crisp and forward for pop, relaxed and fluid for jazz.

Both personas benefit from modern tech tools. Record and analyze performances using DAWs to track growth, identify strengths, and correct weaknesses. Incorporate loopback exercises to refine pitch memory and stylistic transitions. Above all, nurture expressive storytelling—because technical mastery becomes truly powerful when it connects with emotion and faith through sound.
